Sadie’s Lunch Sack

Awww, isn’t it so fun?
This one has a square bottom so her sandwich container can rest on the bottom and have the other things on top.
I used a green corduroy to line it, green is her favorite color. I was shocked she chose the pink peacock print for the outside. It’s never been her color of choice.
I added a button to close it. I need to add a name tag on there. Not that there will be another like it but Sadie is a drop & run kid. I rounded up 3 sweaters & sweatshirts on the ground and in the bushes outside her class yesterday afternoon. Nice.

Oh, corduroy for the lining! That’s what that is. I have a white seersucker I am thinking of using for my next one. But I have a few choices I could go with. I do like the square shape… What to do what to do…
I like this one a lot!

You guys are on a roll and how fun to have an environmentally friendly lunch sack. And I love taking reusable bags to the grocery store. How fun would it be to make a bunch for shopping trips? Add a little interfacing for strength and voila! Love it!

I love the idea of the shopping bag size! We are using half a yard for these smaller bags so you would need more like 3/4 of a yard for a larger size bag. You can always use a Target, Old Navy, Trader Joes type bag as an example. The lady at our craft store told me to try a paper bag as a template, that’s not a bad idea either.
You are right about them needing interfacing for the weight of the groceries too but I will say, the double fabric is pretty darn strong. Especially Sadie’s with the corduroy as the lining.

These are turning out to be the perfect medium size project bags! Especially Sadie’s with the square bottom & button closure. Anything a bit bigger than a pair of socks but smaller than a sweater would fit. Perfect for baby sweaters, scarves, shawls, stoles, the list goes on & on!
