Mystery Stole 3- Clue 1 done

Simple as that
It’s pinned very loosely, I didn’t want to stretch it out on the tablerunner because then the runner would just bunch up underneath it. So, that is the first 100 rows done. You can’t really see the beads too well but taht is an okay thing!
This is the Zephyr wool/silk in Steel on size 5 needles. No lifelines.

Just gorgeous! I knew you’d finish it this weekend!! It really is very pretty and there’s great stitch definition and the whole thing is just beeyoootiful!!
I finished chart A after frogging it at row 35 to change needle size and then 5 more dang frogs because I got weirdly dislexic and disjointed and could not get past row 15 to save my life. Now I am done with chart A, got in a life line and am about to tackle B. Oy. hard work for a person who ain’t never done read a chart beefor.

Well congratulations to you for getting chart A done after all that trouble! I will show you on Thursday how I mark my charts so I don’t make too many mistakes. Easy to do, it just takes a bit of prep work & coloring in with pencils & highliters.

I have been trying to decide on a needle size - I am also using the Zephyr - I love your “finished product” so far- so I think 5’s it is. I am a tight knitter so we’ll see:) Yours is gorgeous!

Found your blog through Seasocks. I’m doing the Mystery Stole too, using Zephyr Merino on size 3 needles. The Merino is the same weight/yardage as the wool silk, but I’m getting a fabrice that doesn’t look anywhere near as firm as yours does. Wonder why?

I do knit on the tight side, I wouldn’t say I knit too tight though. I am using the Addi Lace needles and they seem to produce a tighter, more firm fabric. More even stitch defenition too. I think it’s the coating they have on the needle tips that makes the sts stick but slide easily too. Lovely needles. I also have that piece pinned out tightly so you could see the pattern better. When it’s not pinned it’s a bumpy piece ‘o lace!
